Welcome to the homepage of the first edition of Kent at Brussels Model European Union!
KeBMEU 2010 is the first student-run conference at the Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent) which will be held on the 26th-28th of March 2010 in Brussels.
KeBMEU is your opportunity to participate in an MUN like simulation at the regional level, in the capital of Europe itself: Brussels. The first Model European Union Conference held at BSIS!
This is your chance to be an ‘MEP’ delegate and represent your country’s views on the topic of development and security issues. Join us for a week end of thrilling and challenging debate, the opportunity to meet students from diverse cities in Europe, fun and parties, the possibility to visit one of Brussels’ key EU institutions on Friday afternoon as an opening session to the event!
Our theme being ‘Development and Security’ we are hoping to embark on a 2-day simulation of EU Parliamentary committees regarding pressing issues beyond the borders of the European Union vis-à-vis the globe. We are hoping to provide a weekend of academically stimulating but also fun debate which will give our Parliamentarians the opportunity to understand the workings of the Union, and what better place to do it other than in the very capital of the European Union itself?
In addition to the conference held on 27th and 28th of March, we offer an additional Pre-program consisting of a workshop (still to be confirmed) and a social event on Friday the 26th. Moreover, our Conference will also give attendees the opportunity to visit one of the institutions if they wish to do so a day before the conference itself commences.
You can find more information on everything there is to know about the conference, itinerary and registration on this homepage. If you have any further questions, please contact us!
